I heard that event was a DUD.

Is it true that less than 30 people showed up?
Weren't they expecting 500 and then hoping to get 100?

That Digital Business Card is a great idea! People typically lose a regular biz card but this is a perfect solution! You make that first contact – that action makes sure they have your email & proves you really do want to connect. They only have one more click to respond – makes it E-Z !!
Your clip of the panel talk is very nice – you feel the passion in you speech and your words are simple/direct and “paint the picture” for clear understanding – even for the novice.
    Another excellent video production !!

I was only there for one day, but the event definitely didn't feel like a dud. The exhibitors booths were buzzing the whole time, and when I spoke on stage there were probably 100-150 people in the room or so. I didn't count. If they were expecting 500 people then it may have been a flop I guess. If they were expecting a couple hundred then they were probably pretty happy with the result.

We only found out about it a couple days before the actual event, and had no idea how many people were expected to be there. I thought the event was great, and sometimes smaller events with higher quality people are better for networking.

We landed a few deals out of this event that should generate a large amount of business for us, so we were extremely pleased.

But it is definitely a very false rumor that only 30 people showed up. There were far more than 30 people just working exhibitor tables alone not even including all the guests in the main conference room! But definitely not 500 :)

Thanks! Yes the panel talk was a lot of fun because emerging social media trends is a hot button for me. I could talk for hours on that subject! The digital business card tip has come in handy numerous times. I actually create a new digital business card specifically for the event that I am attending, so that I can personalize it to the people I meet there. Then, after the event I delete it and start using my normal one. I am actually working on developing an iPhone application for this so stay tuned for some exciting releases!

Thanks for the compliments Blaine! Entrepreneurs don't have time nor do they want to watch mindless television, but at the same time they want to be entertained, educated and inspired. That was the goal with Unstrapp'd. To provide them with daily episodes that show them the behind the scenes activities of launching a company, while at the same time enjoying the lifestyle of being an entrepreneur. I am glad that you like the show!

  10. Chris Record says:
